Robert C. Marek, Ph.D., was a prolific American composer of contemporary classical music. A graduate of Eastman School of Music, he served as professor of music theory at the University of South Dakota for thirty years. His works range from highly challenging pieces for the professional musician to commissioned works suitable for high school and even younger musicians.

His collected manuscripts and papers are archived in the Special Collections of the University of South Dakota I.D. Weeks Library.

Copyright of original works is held by the composer's son. Performance rights are available at little or no cost, other than the cost of reproduction of archived music.
