On May 20, 2005, the Civil Air Patrol signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the American Radio Relay League, ARRL.  In conjunction with the signing, CAP manned an exhibitor's booth at the Dayton, Ohio, Hamvention, an annual event that attracts tens of thousands of amateur radio operators from across the country and internationally.
